The position has the primary responsibility to lead and support engineering analysis projects relating to complex electro-mechanical medical products.
The Sr. R&D Analysis Engineer will support business units with engineering analysis such as Plastics, Tool design and Mold Flow Analysis.
Responsibilities Include
⢠Design of Plastics components such as hand held medical instruments and enclosures of electromechanical medical devices.
⢠Design of tooling for plastic components.
⢠Leading plastic injection analysis specifically Mold Flow.
⢠Areas of specialization may include injection mold design and build, understanding of parting lines, ejection, cooling, gating, complex tool action and mold flow considerations. etc.
⢠Experience in high volume injection molding production environment.
⢠Extensive hands-on use of Mold Flow software. Expertise in 2D/3D mesh, Gate location, Molding window, Flow, Cooling, Packing, Warpage, Core Shift Control and Insert overmolding modules.
⢠Knowledge of plastic materials and specialized molding processes including Two-Shot Sequential Overmolding, Gas-Assisted Injection Molding, Co-Injection Molding, thermoforming.
⢠Solid understanding of design and general understanding of ProE /Solidworks.
⢠Report writing and presentation of analysis results to product development teams
- B.S. Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience.
- Computer-aided Engineering Analysis (FEA, CFD, Mold Flow etc.) industry experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
- Project Management experience.
- Ability to travel globally (approx. 10 % travel).
- Experience designing and developing electro mechanical medical devices is an advantage.

⢠Understanding of commonly used plastics in the medical device industry
