Mechanical Engineering Technician, A global healthcare products leader, Hyderabad

The Mechanical Engineering Technician is a very hands-on role. The Technician will responsible for supporting design engineers in manufacturing of rapid prototypes either through external vendors or through the use of internal prototyping machines. The Technician would also be responsible for up keep and maintenance of mechanical lab equipment, lab equipment calibration coordination and performing lab tests when required under R&D Engineering supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creation of rapid prototypes using internal machines or through external suppliers.
• Coordination with external suppliers for getting quotes for various mechanical & electrical components
• Receiving in the parts through proper incoming inspection documentation
• Ability to use SLA & lathe, drilling, milling, grinding and welding machines
• Ability to understand and interpret 2D machine drawings and 3D models.
• Perform all standard post processing procedures for each part produced as necessary. Post processing may include activities such as support material removal, cleaning, sanding, finishing, etc., and any additional special secondary or post processing requirements as specified by the requestor of the prototype.
• Assist in the proper operation and maintenance of all internal prototyping machines & mechanical lab equipment by maintaining a clean, orderly, and effective working environment and keeping all tools and equipment in proper working order.
• Ability to use the lab equipment for doing basic engineering measurements & tests under supervision of the engineering manager.
• Follow all safety regulations regarding the proper handling of materials and equipment and help ensure the same for customers during tours and demonstrations.
• Provide guidance and assistance in ordering all necessary tools, supplies, equipment and materials.
• Perform other work related duties as assigned.

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 5-7 years of related experience  
• Must have manufacturing experience
• Medical device industry experience a plus
• Experience working in a lab environment a plus
