Our client is a MNC leader in the medical devices domain -and is setting up an Engineering centre in Hyderabad to handle NPI for Emerging markets.

We are the look out for a Component Engineer who
Â
⢠Works in Product Lifecycle Management system (Agile) to enter and maintain component data and manufacturer information, product BOMs, approved vendor lists, creates, reviews and approves component Engineering Change Orders.
⢠Provides guidance regarding part selection, design concepts, specification requirements, critical components and alternate sources.
Â
⢠Works closely with R&D, Operations, and Purchasing to assess component obsolescence risks, and proactively works with vendors to identify and implement appropriate alternatives.
Â
⢠Provides leadership in developing consistent standards for component management among all R&D and Operations Engineering groups.
Â
⢠Creates appropriate documentation for engineering change orders in compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Â
⢠Understands product designs, circuit analysis and focuses on ways to improve products and other design opportunities.
Â
⢠Possesses the ability to multi-task and work under pressure when given short notice of material outages and associated manufacturing disruption.
⢠Develops and performs tests to validate alternate devices.
Â
⢠Part of a cross-functional team in implementing product component changes within the Company.
EDUCATION
⢠Required: Bachelorâs degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Â
EXPERIENCE
⢠4 to 7 years experience in component engineering practice including project leadership responsibility
Â
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Â
⢠Possesses good organization and technical communication skills to effectively monitor and convey component end-of-life (EOL) notifications and part change notifications (PCNâs) to Purchasing and Engineering.
⢠Has intimate knowledge of electronic components and their applications
to quickly evaluate the severity of EOLâs and PCNâs, and to evaluate
potential alternates. Also is familiar with circuit design principles
and board layout guidelines.
⢠Has strong electronic circuit analysis skills to evaluate alternate part selection.
⢠Builds effective teams with Purchasing, Quality, and Engineering to
find alternates for parts to maintain quality, strengthen the supply
chain, and reduce costs.
⢠Has strong knowledge of electronic component industry trends, regulatory agencies, and history.
⢠Competence in dealing with multiple organizations and disciplines,
leading projects, directing meetings, making assignments, documenting
and tracking action plans.
⢠Agile PLM experience desired.
â¢Cadence PCB Design tools (OrCAD, CIS, Allegro) experience desired.
⢠Medical Device manufacturing, specifically RF electrosurgical devices, experience desired.
